All that we ourselves are has been made by the child, by the child we were in the first two years of our lives.

Our Programme

Montessori Programme

We adhere to the Montessori Philosophy.  Various curriculum areas of a Montessori environment include Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics and Culture.

Morning Programme

The morning session, which is called ‘choosing time’, facilitates opportunities for children to freely choose from various curriculum areas. All our materials are displayed on low shelves that are easily accessible for children, empowering them to follow their innate interests. Children can engage in activities independently, 1-1 with teachers, with a peer or in small groups within an uninterrupted block of time. This supports and strengthens their ability to concentrate, make their own discoveries and master skills at their own pace.

Afternoon programme

The afternoon session integrates a wide variety of extra-curricular activities such as baking, science, yoga, music and movement, dance, drama, poetry, ball games, gardening and visual arts and crafts, both 1-1 and in small groups.

Outdoor programme

The outdoor programme provides a fine balance of experiences in Montessori activities, gross motor activities and gardening.

A wide variety of Montessori materials and activities displayed on the shelves on the deck are readily available for children who prefer to work on the deck.

A variety of equipment is available for children to focus on their physical education and practice their gross motor skills. A few examples of these include balancing beams, mini trampoline, moon hoppers, basketball and football nets, obstacle courses, sandpit and water trough, and group games facilitated by teachers.

A garden with seasonal plants and flowers is always inviting and children love to help with watering as well as tend to the compost bin.

Portfolios & Storypark

We use an awesome app called Storypark, which allows whānau to follow their child’s early learning journey and to ensure you don’t miss out on important centre communications.

Photos, videos and audio capture your child’s learning so you never miss a treasured moment again. You and your family can also feel more engaged in your child’s development, and you decide who you would like to invite to experience your childs learning journey with you. A perfect way to share those special moments with loved ones down the line or overseas.

Although we love to use Storypark as an online platform to communicate with parents, we also use paper portfolios for each child.

Children enjoy finding their paper portfolio and reflecting on their past activities at the centre. It is a fantastic way for children to engage in self-recognition and reflect on their personal development, as well as being a treasured keepsake for their 21st Birthday!

Contact us, book a tour or join our waiting list,
we’d love to hear from you!

We understand that your child’s education & care is a priority and that choosing the right centre can be a big decision. We would be delighted to share in your child’s learning journey. Feel welcome to contact us in whichever way is most convenient for you, or visit our centre and meet our Teaching Team!
